In Science we are looking at Living Things.
As part of our topic, we explored our school grounds to find as many invertebrates as we could and do some classifications with the invertebrates that we found.

Year 4 had a lovely time at the library! We learnt about how the library organises its books and had a tour. The children then had the chance to take part in a book hunt challenge, using the library's layout to find lots of different authors and books. The children were then able to withdraw some books out using their library cards!

Year 6 had a great time at the local library this week. We look forward to this yearly tradition every year! They became detectives and had to learn the layout of the library to find different authors and texts. Children with library cards were then able to withdraw some fantastic books out!

On Monday 21st November, Year 5 took a trip to our local library. We loved seeing all the books on offer and exploring different authors. We even went on a scavenger hunt, searching for popular junior book covers that had been hidden just for us!

Year 5 enjoyed a fun-filled day in Manchester City Centre on Friday 18th November.
Children travelled using the Metrolink and arrived at the Printworks IMAX cinema to watch a film based on our previous science topic all about space. It was called 'Asteroid hunters'. It was very interesting and they learnt a lot! The cinema screen was huge and it felt very immersive!
We then visited Manchester Art Gallery. We had a look around the gallery and picked our favourite pieces of Art. Members of staff shared with us lots of interesting information about the individual pieces.
We then came back to school and did some work all about our day out!

This morning, year 3 took a trip to our local library. We loved seeing all the books on offer and exploring different authors.

Y3 Science - Sedimentary Sandwiches, by Miss Khan

In Science, we have been learning all about different rock types.
To help us understand how sedimentary rocks are formed, we layered food items on top of each other, to represent the sediments that form a sedimentary rock!
Did you know it takes hundreds of years for this process to occur?!
Y3 Decorating & Cooking Pizzas!, by Miss Khan

Today, our dough had risen beautifully so year 3 were able to roll, decorate and cook their pizzas!
We used rolling pins, a range of ingredients and discussed kitchen safety whilst in our fantastic food tech room. Just look at how much fun we had!

This term in Design & Technology, our topic is 'Cooking and Nutrition'. We are learning all about pizza!
We have researched pizza, designed our own and even got to try samples of yummy pizza.
Yesterday, we started to make our pizza dough and got our hands messy mixing the ingredients together - we loved it!

Today, we took a trip to Stretford Public Hall to watch Clifford the Big Red Dog on a big screen!
All the children behaved beautifully, a true representation of our Moss Park school values.

Y3 Geography: Maps & Globes, by Miss Khan

Today, year 3 were working on our knowledge of addresses, using maps and globes to help us locate different areas of the world!
We used Google Earth and the Maps app to find our school, and explored the local area.
We added the 7 continents to our paper mache globes and labelled with our key words: the equator, lines of longitude and lines of latitude :)
