Geography
Our Vision
At Moss Park, we see geography as a journey of discovery that sparks curiosity and a fascination with the world. Through hands-on learning and exploration, children uncover the wonders of diverse places, cultures, and global challenges, building a sense of identity and belonging.
Our geography curriculum inspires children to think critically, act responsibly, and understand their role in the world. By working with our local community and supporting initiatives, we help our pupils become conscientious global citizens ready to make a positive impact.
Our Aims
Explore globally significant places, their physical and human characteristics, and the processes that shape them.
Understand how physical and human geography are interconnected and drive changes over time.
Build practical skills in fieldwork, data analysis, and map reading.
Cultivate curiosity, creativity, and confidence to engage with the world and its challenges.
Implementation
Our geography curriculum is designed to inspire a lifelong love for learning about the world. By revisiting and building on prior knowledge, children develop a deep understanding of their environment and their place within it.
We make learning active and engaging through fieldwork, local projects, and real-world problem-solving. Pupils explore maps, diagrams, and digital tools to gather and interpret data, turning knowledge into action.
At Moss Park, we intend to empower children to appreciate the beauty and complexity of the world, providing them with the skills and confidence to make a difference in their communities or school community and beyond.
